    Venus Optics launched the original Laowa 12mm Zero-D for stills photography in 2016, the widest rectilinear f/2.8 lens for full frame at the time. The cine version brought the same optics to PL mount with cinema-grade mechanics around 2019.

    Adopted across architectural, automotive, and real-estate cinematography where extreme wide-angle coverage without barrel distortion is the brief, a rare combination unavailable from most ultra-wide cinema primes.
