On set, your lens is your voice. It shapes how the viewer reads the frame: the compression, the character, the look. We've spent years building one of Australia's most comprehensive collections of cinema glass, because the right look shouldn't depend on your budget or your postcode. Clean and modern in the ZEISS Supreme Primes, classic Cooke warmth in the Panchro/i Classics, the 1970s Canon K-35s that gave so many films their flare, anamorphic in the Atlas Orions, and rare Japanese glass rehoused by Ancient Optics in the Tamashii and Statera sets. If it matters to your story, we probably have it, and if we don't we will tell you straight.

Pride in our service is what keeps The Front unique. We deliver across Sydney metro, and send gear interstate by freight. Shoots don't only happen during business hours, so beyond our six-day trading week we run 24/7 support for larger productions, by arrangement.

Our staff rigorously test all rental equipment before it leaves the building, and meticulously maintain and service it on return. If an item should fail, we will replace it as quickly as possible to keep your production shooting. We understand what you need on set. The Front offers the tools to solve almost any hire requirement, at Sydney's most competitive rental rates, and we are happy to match competitors' prices.

And when you need to try something before you commit to it, there are two rooms at the same address. Our test room is there for exactly that: put glass on a chart, check a rig, get familiar with a camera you have not run before, no booking and no rush. And the 156m² daylight studio is available by the day, for shoots, tests, auditions, casting, stills, or whatever else you need a big clean room for. Your crew gets a space that feels professional without the big-studio overhead.
