DZOFilm Vespid Retro

Full Frame · PL Mount

16 – 125mm T2.1 – T2.8 PL

A limited-edition set of seven primes in distinctive silver aluminium housings: the Vespid Retro applies a unique golden coating to DZOFilm’s full-frame Vespid optics.

The result: cool blue-toned images with controllable warm amber halation and tangerine flares when angled into light sources. An art-house look without filtration: dreamy, sun-soaked, poetic. Under normal lighting they deliver crisp high-contrast images with gentle vintage softness. Under 1.05kg per lens, the entire 7-lens set weighs less than many single high-end primes.

Heritage

  1. Origin

DZOFilm (China) produced the Vespid Retro as a limited run: initially only 50 sets worldwide. The Retro shares the standard Vespid Prime’s optical design and mechanical performance but adds a proprietary golden coating that shifts the image character dramatically. The silver housing, inspired by 1970s industrial design and Mondrian’s geometric paintings, makes the Retro visually distinctive on set and screen alike.
