Cooke’s goal: the same resolution, optical quality, and colour rendering as the S4/i, in a smaller, lighter, more affordable package.
The Mini S4/i delivers exactly that. One stop slower at T2.8, but the cam-style focus is identical, the colour match is factory-guaranteed across all Cooke lines, and the lenses don’t breathe. At 1.3–1.6kg per lens, they’re genuinely compact enough for extended Steadicam work and gimbal rigs while retaining that unmistakable Cooke warmth and dimensionality.

The Mini S4/i was Cooke’s answer to demand for smaller, lighter cinema primes at a more accessible price point. Sharing the S4/i’s optical DNA and colour balance, the Mini S4/i trades one stop of aperture for significantly reduced size and weight. The full range spans 10 focal lengths from 18–135mm, with the 6-lens kit (18, 25, 32, 50, 75, 100mm) being the standard rental configuration. Uncoated replacement optics are available for productions wanting even more vintage character.
