V35 Project · USA
5 anamorphic primes 25 – 100mm T2.0 PL
The Viltrox EPIC 1.33× full-frame anamorphics, reborn.
V35 Project takes the mechanically excellent EPIC and performs an optical conversion inspired by the Hawk V-Lite Vintage 74 look, a set costing many times more and nearly impossible to source. The conversion adds barrel distortion, more pronounced flares, lower contrast, and a subtler fall-off with textured bokeh. A one-of-a-kind set: full-frame 1.33× anamorphic coverage (2.35:1 from 16:9 sensors) with Hawk character at a fraction of the cost. Limited to 100 sets.
Character profile
Hawk character. Distortion. Low contrast.
Five axes plotting how this set behaves wide-open vs a neutral modern reference. Larger area = more pronounced trait.

Heritage
Origin
Converted by V35 Project (USA), a boutique lens-tuning house that specialises in giving modern glass vintage character. The base Viltrox EPIC lenses are manufactured in Shenzhen, China (Viltrox, founded 2009). V35 Project strips and re-tunes the optics and coatings, then refinishes the exterior. The Hawk V-Lite 74 reference is the Vantage Film (Germany) 1.3× anamorphic, a rare, high-end rental set favoured for vintage character with modern reliability.
