We run this family as standard 3 and 6-lens kits. Bespoke focal mixes are built on request.
Limited-edition Atlas Orion 2× front-anamorphic primes, built from a private optical reserve with precision air spacings + Silver Edition coatings.
Where standard Orions produce a familiar cool blue streak, the Silver Edition’s neutral flare takes the colour of the light source: tungsten yields amber, daylight yields silver-blue. Re-tuned through-focus pushes the clearest plane forward with longer fall-off behind subjects. Orion mechanics underneath: unified iris and focus, 14-blade, 0.8M gears, 31mm circle (S35), optional 1.6× LF Extender for full-frame.
Character profile
Colour-reactive flares. Cinematic fall-off.
Five axes plotting how this set behaves wide-open vs a neutral modern reference. Larger area = more pronounced trait.

Talking points
Silver Edition coatings produce neutral, colour-reactive flares that match the light source, not the fixed blue of standard Orions
Re-tuned air spacings shift the through-focus plane forward with a longer, more cinematic fall-off behind the subject
Limited to 100 sets worldwide.
Built from Atlas’s private optical reserve
Unified mechanics across all focal lengths: same iris/focus position, same 0.8M gears.

Heritage
Origin
Atlas Lens Co. (USA) announced the Silver Edition in 2021, a limited-edition variant of the standard Orion Series 2× anamorphic primes. Only 100 sets were produced, built from Atlas’s private reserve of selected optics with precision-augmented air spacings and Silver Edition coatings.
Filmography
Adopted by DPs hunting Panavision-era anamorphic character without the rental restrictions, the Silver Edition’s neutral, colour-reactive flares give the look a more contemporary palette than the standard Orion’s cool blue.
Build
Modern manufacture. Where standard Orions produce a familiar cool blue streak, the Silver Edition’s flare takes the colour of the light source: tungsten yields amber, daylight yields silver-blue. Re-tuned air spacings shift the through-focus plane forward with a longer, more cinematic fall-off behind the subject. The 21mm and 25mm were later additions to the wider Orion range; The Front carries them as standard Orions, rentable individually alongside the Atlas Orion kits. Optional 1.6× LF Extender for full-frame.
