Fujinon Premista 19-45mm
Fujinon
Fujinon
19 – 45mm zoom T2.9 PL
The wide-angle member of Fujinon’s large-format Premista zoom trilogy.
Covering 19–45mm at constant T2.9, it replaces a set of five primes for wide-angle work on cameras like the ARRI Alexa LF, RED Monstro, and Sony VENICE. At 3.3kg and 230mm, it’s the lightest and shortest Premista: purpose-built for Steadicam, cranes, and tight spaces. Distortion is exceptionally well controlled even at 19mm, and Fujinon’s proprietary coatings deliver neutral colour that matches with other Premista, Premier, and Cabrio glass.
Character profile
Clean. Wide. Low distortion.
Five axes plotting how this set behaves wide-open vs a neutral modern reference. Larger area = more pronounced trait.
Talking points
Lightest and shortest Premista at 3.3kg / 230mm: 500g lighter than the 28-100 and 80-250
Exceptional distortion control at 19mm wide, rare for a large-format zoom at this focal length
Dual metadata: both ZEISS eXtended Data and Cooke /i for maximum post-production flexibility
Shares 114mm front diameter and gear positions with all Premista lenses: zero accessory adjustment

Heritage
Origin
FUJIFILM announced the Premista 19-45mm in 2020 as the third lens in the Premista series, completing a wide-to-telephoto trio covering 19–250mm. Fujinon’s cinema lens heritage dates to 2000, and the company received an Engineering Emmy Award in 2017 for its cinema zoom technology. The Premista series was designed from scratch for large-format sensors, with every component manufactured to micron-level tolerances. All three Premista zooms share identical front diameters and gear positions for seamless on-set lens changes.
