The Fujinon Cabrio 19-90mm (part of Fujinon’s Premier line) has a detachable ENG-style servo drive with built-in focus, iris, and zoom motors. Remove the grip and it becomes a standard PL cinema zoom with 0.8 MOD gears. The 4.7× zoom ratio covers the widest range of any lightweight cinema zoom: 19mm to 90mm at a constant T2.9. Heritage

  1. Origin

    Introduced by Fujinon (FUJIFILM’s optical division), the Cabrio (named after “cabriolet” for its convertible nature) was a breakthrough in PL-mount zoom design. Fujinon’s Premier-series optics combined with an ENG-style detachable servo created a new category: the convertible cinema zoom. The servo’s 16-bit encoding feeds accurate lens position data, and the drive self-calibrates when reattached. Fujinon’s broadcast heritage shows in the build quality and the ability to power the servo directly through LDS-compatible camera hot-shoe contacts. Luminous barrel markings, field-adjustable back focus, and flange focal distance adjustment round out a lens built for the real world of production.
